What ailments and illnesses can acupuncture help with?

 

Acupuncture can help with many types of ailments and illnesses. Are there any risk to getting acupuncture?

Bruising may occur if (and when) cupping or gua sha (or scraping) is done. Otherwise, acupuncture has very low risk from minor bruising to a slight dizziness. Infection does not occur as we utilize clean and disposable acupuncture needles.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance is not accepted. However, a super bill is available upon request.

We accept cash, check or credit card.

Do acupuncture needles hurt?

 

No, they do not. Susanti uses a very fine, sharp and very thin Japanese needles that are inserted gently and shallowly.

How deep do the needles go?

 

In general, about 1mm to 3mm. This also depends on the muscle size, ie. gluteal (buttock) area is much larger, hence longer and thicker needle would be utilized.

Can I get a disease like hepatitis from using acupuncture needles?

 

Susanti uses disposable and one time use only acupuncture needles as well as maintaining clean hands practice at all times to avoid the risk of hepatitis.
